About Me

Hello, my name is Ethan Williams, and I am a junior in the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona. I am double majoring in accounting and management information systems (MIS). I am currently the Student Engagement Director for the Accounting Student Association and Beta Alpha Psi (ASAB), and I am also on the Eller Cohort Advisory board, where I give feedback to advisors on how to improve the experience for first semester Eller students. In addition, I have an internship with EY in the financial services office (FSO) for the summer of 2023.

I was not always set on being an accountant. Coming into college, I had no idea what I wanted to do. I chose pre-business as my major because it was broad, and I have always been good with numbers. After taking all of the introduction courses, there was only one option for me: accounting. In accounting, I finally found a major and career path that matched the logical way my brain works. And now that I am here, I couldn't be more satisfied with my decision.

About Me

Work hard, play hard

Shown above is the motto that I choose to live my life by: "Work hard, play hard." This might sound simple, but I chose this motto because it emphasizes two of my strongest values.

The first of these values is work ethic. I believe that the only way to do something is with my maximum effort, or else what is even the point? This is reflected in both the effort I put into my academics, social interactions, my general thirst for knowledge, and more.

The other value that is vital to me is the importance of recognizing and rewarding hard work. As someone who works very hard in everything I do, it is also just as important to me to reward that hard work with down time, a night out, or something else fun.

Just as it is crucial to balance debits and credits, it is also important to balance these two values. This is because if one outweighs the other, that can lead to either burnout or slacking off, and neither of those are part of a healthy lifestyle.
